Goodbye Blue Sky is a response to a real story that I witnessed in a summer: a group of kids was throwing a stray kitten up to bump into the fence on the second floor window until it died.As it happened in the afternoon, another group of kids found the dead kitten in the evening and started to dig a hole down to the ground to bury it.
The movements took place on the exact same spot reacting to the same incidence.
Goodbye Blue Sky is a multi-media sculpture with videos and sound. The sculpture is designed as the form of an electronic console without the actual function of making sound. The video separated into two screens shows some fixed movement and tracks that trigger the senses, corresponding with tonal sound source. Information is given through the responsive dialogue between the screens, while the installation of structured console leads the view to the speaker which is the real source of sound. Combination of sculpture, video and sound in the work came about from my interest equally in three factors: structure, visual quality and shape of listening.
Memory and cognition gives shape to our perception of a fixed field, activating living images and substance to our speculations, which is presented in the work, moulding a kind of solidified perception.
